Visiting her is always a great time, but shopping for the relative who looks like they have it all can be daunting. Lucky for you, we’re ready to dazzle her with trend-setting styles that have luxury top of mind. Gigi pendants and Zuma chandeliers mix rich finishes with avant-garde silhouettes that will add a dose of glamour to her urban abode.

For the sister whose eye for design is unmatched, wow her with a Skye or Ludlow chandelier that she’ll have forever. These insanely popular styles are uniquely inspired by organic shapes interpreted with modern flair. Can’t say we’re surprised, though – these stunners are part of our Lisa McDennon collection, who hails from Laguna Beach, California. Lisa’s sophisticated eye for architecture and luxe materials infuse every one of her designs.

Like many retirees, Grandpa chased after the heat, which means he spends plenty of time outdoors. Brighten his holiday with a pair of outdoor lanterns. A few of our favorite eye-catchers include Freeport and Republic. Each brings a coastal, timeless appeal built for maximum durability. Low maintenance, long-lasting and easy to install, you’ll be gifting Grandpa both safety and style.

We all remember the hours spent in front of the mirror making sure we looked as good as possible. Now we just want to maximize our time in sweatpants. But for the teens in your life who need the perfect lighting to tend to every detail, Marquee and Lucent deliver the goods. Simple, stunning and energy-efficient, these LED bath lights add the right kind of drama to their lives, and will accentuate any mirror or vanity space in your home long after they leave the nest.

Nothing puts a smile on dad’s face quite like a freshly mowed, lush green lawn. But did you know outdoor lighting solutions can substantially increase the overall appearance and safety of a home? Plus increase property value, big time? Now you’ve got his attention. An easy DIY project, our Mushroom and Mini Classic path lights from Hinkley landscape lighting are a stylish gift solution that gives your favorite guy the best yard on the block.

Messes aside, we adore the endless curiosity and imagination kids have. From art projects to science experiments, they love to spread out, dig in and create. That’s where practical task lighting comes in, and why not have it wrapped in a stylish package so it’s a win/win? Enter Arti. Inspired by a traditional articulating task light, Arti is a fully adjustable sconce updated with well-designed details. On top of that, it can easily move along with your roaming brood, so you can migrate Arti from one craft or play space to the next.

Ah, the guy who only needs a small duffel for a week-long trip home. We don’t know how he does it, and we definitely admire it. But even the minimalist can use thoughtfully designed lighting. Meet Keating and Academy, two urban-inspired pendants with a carefully executed modern edge. Slim profiles and a timeless appearance mean they fit in anywhere, and will mean everything to someone who appreciates both form and function.

Where’s the party? Probably at the same house you find yourself every weekend. But even the most enjoyable outdoor spaces can benefit from a mix of amazing outdoor lighting, like stylish outdoor chandeliers, pendants, lanterns or pier mounts. Outdoor designs from our Open Air collection is the gift that keeps on giving…we’ll toast to that!

Lighting is essential in all rooms, but not everyone wants to make a statement. Especially the uncle who spends his spare time kicking back, or watching the game with his buddies. For the man cave, easy-to-install flush mounts like Maxwell, Emery or Halsey offer the perfect middle ground: subtle, masculine and understated fixtures that get the job done.

Mom’s home cooked meals are the real MVP. Show her your appreciation for that food coma you fall into every time she whips up your favorite dishes. Hinkley offers ceiling fans that are the perfect solutions to cooling down the kitchen, which is always one of the busiest areas of a home, regardless of the season. Our space-friendly Vail fan features a sleek profile and whisper-quiet motor, and is guaranteed to keep Mom cool and comfortable.

After spending holidays with the kids, there’s nothing more Grandma wants to do than kick her feet up. Help her relax in style with Denton or Kinzie pin-up sconces that will make her favorite spot even cozier. Gifting her with additional illumination for aging eyes and an easy on/off touch sensor give you peace of mind too.

The holidays are not only a time to think about others – you have to remember to #treatyourself too. What do you want to do in the new year to improve the enjoyment, style and functionality of your home? Keeping Local: LovLox Salon Lights Up Through Brand Partnership

Hinkley Hospitality just shared a little more of its glam. Nestled in the cozy suburb of Rocky River, Ohio, lives the luxurious, multi-service salon, better known as LovLox. And in classic Hinkley fashion eagerly hoping to help strengthen a fellow local business, we teamed up to add sophisticated style and high-quality illumination to an already-fab hot spot.

But we didn’t want to saturate the space with just one style – so we incorporated a variety of favorites – from landscape lanterns to bath bars to luxe chandeliers – to create one creative, conducive ambiance for customers looking to get pampered in charm.

The outside features Atlantis in its sleek manner, built with attractive practicality in mind.

Take a walk inside and you’ll find the gorgeous Nula as the centerpiece of the lobby, with a similar sister-silhouette sprinkled throughout each design station: the darling Ensemble. But because every mirror needs an extra beam of light, we added the soft glow of Margeaux to pair.

Last but not least, the powder room. Since we all know this spot needs a little LED-TLC, see Simi shining boldly, elegantly balanced with the industrial-chic design details provided by Fiona.

But enough with the talk, take a visual tour of this stunning salon and try to tell us you don’t want your next self-care rendezvous here.

November Eye-Catcher: Vida

Nothing livens up the mood of a room quite like a statement piece to take center stage. Whether that be a glam chandelier or a subtle yet showstopping flush mount – sometimes – a luxurious fixture is all a space really needs.

And while our line of flashy fixtures from Fredrick Ramond each have a special place in our heart, one in particular stands out: Vida. As the featured fixture on the cover of our supplement catalog in June 2019, Vida combines luxe materials and detailed finishes to create a modern design. Vida appears to burst with a flourishing style that is both highly dramatic and finely sculpted. Its crystal accents and unique canopy details add a dash of contemporary inspiration while reinforcing high-quality design to its surroundings.

7 Pieces of Classic Artwork that Inspired our Galerie Collection

Chandeliers and pendants are the typical superstars of any space, but it is the modest flush mount and sconce that are critical to layering light and illuminating dark rooms or hallways. We kicked the look and performance of these tried-and-true fixtures WAY up after our product design team was inspired by the seven “elements of art.” These elements, which include Line, Form, Shape, Texture, Space, Value and Color (aka the building blocks of art), were woven through this sleek new collection and offer an unbeatable combination of form and function.

“Galerie’s signature theme is found in the highly decorative elements of each family,” says Lauren Lovett, Product Director at Hinkley. “These different ‘elements of art’ ensure the entire array of sconce and flush mounts are immediately recognizable as representing Hinkley style and quality, with our well-known focus on details, design and materials.”

Even better, the complementary contours, materials and finishes allow each piece to be used in unison or easily combined with other Galerie fixtures. So whether you need wall and ceiling lighting for a room refresh or you’re working with a blank canvas for a large project, this collection makes it easy to find seamless solutions.

Let’s take peek at the element of art behind each of the silhouettes that make up Galerie, plus some of the epic artists that inspired us for this collection:

Composition in Red, Blue, and Yellow by Piet Mondrian, 1937-42

Axis uses the Line element to create a bold but classic cross-stem sconce in either robust Black or warm Heritage Brass.

Art Inspo: Mondrian was all about striking simplification to create arresting art, using stark black Lines to make a statement.

Fallingwater by Frank Llyod Wright, 1935

The Vector sconce puts the spotlight on Form with its minimalist “V” shape constructed in a warm Walnut paired with a heathered shade.

Art Inspo: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater epitomizes organic Form, with natural lines and earthy textures.

Blue Green Red by Ellsworth Kelly, 1963

Link flush mounts are perfected by the special attention paid to Shape with sleek, well-executed round or square finials that enhance its refined silhouette.

Art Inspo: Ellsworth Kelly was a master of Shape, using its form and scale as a key element in his artwork, which is revered for its lines, shadows and shapes.

The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh, 1889

Avenue sconces offer distinct silhouettes made even more irresistible with its primary focus on a rich sense of Texture in the glossy acrylic or warm heathered shades.

Art Inspo: Vincent van Gogh’s The Starry Night delivers a luxurious sensation of Texture that plays to our sense of touch in his epic painting.

Recumbent Figure by Henry Moore, 1889

Halo flush mounts are designed with luminosity top of mind, and uses the element of Space in its composition to highlight unique details in one cohesive silhouette.

Art Inspo: British sculptor Henry Moore was a pioneer in modern sculpture, using the element of Space in his avant-garde aesthetic to showcase the areas around, between and within a single piece of art.

Water Lillies by Claude Monet, 1916

Luster sconces create visual interest with refined contrasting tones and materials that add the element of Value, like its airy glass rods paired with deep rich finishes and luxe shades.

Art Inspo: Claude Monet was an undisputed genius at using Value in his paintings to impart balance, depth and beauty.

Color, the seventh element of art, infuses the entire Galerie collection with a refined color palette designed to complement a wide variety of spaces. Each sconce and flush mount is offered in luxurious finish options, from bold Black to warm Heritage Brass, and can be customized with sophisticated Heathered Gray or chic Off-White Linen shades.

Five Advantages of Lighting Up Your Landscape

Landscape lighting, with its incredible range of products and applications, is a surefire way to improve your property and increase enjoyment of your green areas, whether you are inside or out.

The yard, garden and architectural features of a property, no matter its size, can be a source of great pride and for good reason: it’s usually a big investment of time and money. So why enjoy this critical part of your residence only during the daylight hours?

Below are five advantages to lighting up your landscape with a little advice from our experts.

  1. FLEXIBILITY: You can slowly and gradually add in more lighting features as your time, budget or exterior space allows — it’s all in your hands! Lighting up a single tree or adding path lights can usually be done relatively quickly and will provide a dramatic difference immediately.

“One of my personal favorite benefits of exterior lighting is the fact that you can easily add, update or move it as you please. It does not require one immediate purchase or decision – but rather it is a gradual process, reducing stress from both a cost and decision standpoint” said Doug Prexta, Hinkley’s Landscape Sales Manager.

  2. ECO-EFFICIENCY: LED technology is the backbone of any landscape lighting plan and will provide long-term cost-savings and almost zero maintenance. Not only does LED lighting expand the lifetime of a bulb, but it also uses at least 70 percent less energy than traditional lighting.

Heather Garret of Heather Garret Interior Design thinks LEDs are the perfect landscape lighting solution, “Energy efficient lighting is a must for eco-conscious homeowners. Now that the options for LED lamping mimic the luminous feeling of incandescents, we no longer have to choose between beautiful light and energy efficiency” she stated.

“Now that the options for LED lamping mimic the luminous feeling of incandescents, we no longer have to choose between beautiful light and energy efficiency.”

  3. INCREASED SECURITY AND SAFETY: Eliminate the dark areas of your home’s exterior for added security and safety. A well-lit exterior not only decreases the risk of crime, but it also reinforces safety in hazardous, injury-prone areas.

Doug Prexta reinforces how important it is to have lighting in high-risk areas, “By adding lighting to the darkest areas of your yard, you can prevent crimes like burglaries and vandalism. Outdoor steps, drop-offs or areas around pools are smart choices to place lighting to prevent injuries.”.

“Illuminating the driveway and walkways enhance safety and create ease of entry for visitors.”

  4. EXTEND YOUR LIVING SPACE: Crafting a well-lit outdoor living area creates a multi-dimensional home that can be enjoyed day and night. Today, an outdoor living environment is becoming a must-have for every homeowner.

“Being able to see outside at night is a wonderful way to enlarge the feeling of the size of the property. The exterior becomes an extension of the interior,” said Katie Lydon of Katie Lydon Interiors.

  5. IMPROVED HOME VALUE: With a bit of pre-planning, path lights and exterior lanterns together can make your house stand out from the others and be the talk of the block. Well-designed landscape lighting will reinforce aesthetic appeal and make your home look more sophisticated and well-maintained.

“Landscape lighting amplifies the overall look and unique features of a home. A well-lit home is more  appealing to the eye, and can mean the difference between a prospective buyer making a home purchase,” said Doug Prexta.
